Milwaukee Downtown Action Agenda

Mass Economics performed the economic analysis and provided recommendations for Milwaukee’s downtown redevelopment plan (the Downtown Action Agenda). To initiate the project, the team conducted baseline analytics and research to understand the story of the city’s downtown (e.g., demographics, clusters, land use, population and economic trends, etc.). With this background, the team developed cluster profiles for downtown focus, identified business retention and attraction challenges and opportunities, and identified innovation and entrepreneurship challenges, with a focus on traditionally under-represented groups. The Downtown Action Agenda, both in process and product, was designed to be shared and inclusive, with a focus on diverse community engagement and input.
