Chicago South Suburban Economic Growth Initiative

Mass Economics worked with RW Ventures to develop a comprehensive economic development strategy for a collection of suburban communities in southern Cook County (directly south of Chicago). Mass Economics led the project’s cluster, innovation and entrepreneurship analytics, assessing regional and sub-regional strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities. In addition, staff analyzed workforce and commuter flow trends, compiled and mapped business service organizations and capital providers, and cleaned and spatialized firmlevel data. Based on these findings, the team collaboratively assembled recommendations to strengthen the economy and governance of the South Suburbs.
